Richard Mills joined the First African In Space team in February as a Timeline Project Manager. He tracks all phases of the project from around the world including Houston, Moscow, Munich and Cape Town.
Richard is also responsible for managing the HAM (amateur radio) initiative, in which Mark will talk to school learners live from the International Space Station.
Richard has a background in information systems and has specialised in developing global banking systems for both the retail and commercial banking markets. He has fulfilled various roles in the industry and has worked as a project manager. He recently returned to Cape Town after spending three years in the United Kingdom.
Richard is interested in filmmaking and has recently completed a course in film editing in New York. Once this project is over he intends to pursue film editing as a starting point to getting into filmmaking.
