Body Composition
Body mass index (BMI)
The body mass index is used to asses weight relative to height and is calculated by dividing body weight in kilograms by height in meters squared (weight/height2). This ratio is inappropriate for certain populations, such as people under the age of 18, competitive athletes, body builders, pregnant of lactating women and the elderly, as the ratio is limited in that it does not project changes in actual weight change to BMI changes. The healthy range is approximately 18.5-25. A BMI value of more than 30 indicates that you should lose some body fat, while a BMI of 40 and above has been identified as a severe health risk.
Mark's BMI = 27kg/m2
